INTERIOR - concept
Over the course of his career, from 1985 to the
present, the designer Maurizio Peregalli has shown particular interest
in the relationship between product and commercial space, between
the question of sales and that of display and architectural design,
whether permanent (the store) or temporary (stands and shows). Peregalli
has united the design of the store with its construction, offering
a "turnkey" product that right from the outset brings the
creative process of design and care over detail into line with the
feasibility of construction and an attentive control of the relationship
between costs, overall image and completion time. It is not customary
for an architect to provide a complete product, ranging from the design
(which can sometimes include the logo and trademark of the sales outlet)
to its construction, but this practice has allowed Peregalli to exercise
direct control over the phases of construction of the commercial premises
he has designed, trying out materials and techniques in close collaboration
with highly skilled craftsmen and technicians. Thus the design and
construction of the store serve as direct testimonies of his work.
The high-quality sales outlets, designed and constructed by Maurizio
Peregalli, located all over Europe, are characterized by a refined
clarity of composition, a close link between interior designs and
choice of materials and flexible grammar of display systems capable
of adapting to the most irregular spaces. These stores are a demonstration
of Maurizio Peregalli's unusual approach to design and realization,
in which he takes care of all aspects, from drawing up the design
to the actual construction, guaranteeing control over costs and times
without ever forgetting the importance of the overall image, which
is carefully studied, recognizable and elegantly repeatable in any
urban setting. (by Matteo Vercelloni)
